A good meeting with the head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of Poland, Paweł Kowal, in the Sejm.
We talked about the war, prospects of a ceasefire, and necessary steps to achieve a just and lasting peace. I informed about the latest atrocities of the Russian aggressors: the night shelling of Kyiv and Odesa.
Our common position is that true and effective diplomacy requires strength, and thus pressure on Russia, as Putin understands no other language.
We separately discussed Ukrainian-Polish relations, particularly progress on the issue of exhumations. We agreed that we need to continue along the path of depoliticization for the interests of both nations.
We also talked about progress on Ukraine’s path to the EU and the importance of support from Warsaw, particularly regarding the need for faster opening of the next negotiation clusters.
Thank you, Paweł, for the substantive conversation!
