Yesterday, our team had a meeting with the new Minister of Defense. We spent two hours discussing the draft defense budget. Our position is to remove all unnecessary items from it: cashbacks, propaganda videos, and “thousand springs.”
We also reminded about the PIT that servicemen pay, which should go to the brigade’s fund. Without corruption and without directives from above, the brigade will decide for itself what and how to purchase. The Minister promised to support this idea.
The Defense Forces should have means to counteract reactive “Shahed” drones. I presented the Minister with developments brought from the largest defense exhibition in Poland. We agreed with the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer and identified a complex of 24 Super Tucano aircraft capable of intercepting and destroying reactive drones. Hopefully, Ukraine will have them by the end of the year.
“European Solidarity” also advocated for a reform with clear rotation and demobilization timelines. We are fighting for this.
Today, we once again provided the Armed Forces with equipment and gear worth almost 30 million hryvnias. They were received by the Airborne Forces, Land Forces, Special Operations Forces, Air Forces, Marine Corps, and Territorial Defense.
We purchased two armored LAND ROVER SNATCH vehicles from the UK Ministry of Defense and fully refitted them for evacuation. One was given to the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade, and the other to the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
The 78th Separate Air Assault Brigade, with which we have been side-by-side since its inception, received a container repair workshop and a motivational flag in the brigade’s colors. Similar workshops went to the 14th Separate Reconnaissance and 94th Separate Anti-Tank Battalion of the 19th Army Corps and the 96th Separate Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade in Kyiv. Those protecting Kyiv’s skies will now return equipment to combat duty faster.
One hundred strike drones “Lightning” were given to the 421st Separate Unmanned Systems Battalion, the 54th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, and the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. Special Operations Forces received a mobile tire fitting complex with RunFlat.
We also provided 150 “Aspirin 2.0” drone detectors, 50 Starlink Mini, 44 generators, 54 charging stations, and 104 units of office equipment. Unlike the government, we are preparing military units for winter.
We could have provided twice as much if the Supreme Court had overturned the illegal sanctions. But despite everything, we continue to work for the military.
