Yesterday our team held a meeting with the new Minister of Defense. For two hours, we discussed the draft defense budget. Our position is to remove all unnecessary items: cashbacks, propaganda videos, and “thousand springs.”
We also reminded about the personal income tax paid by servicemen, which should go to the brigade fund. Without corruption and without top-down directives, the brigade itself will decide what and how to purchase. The Minister promised to support this idea.
The Defense Forces must acquire means to counter the strike “Shahed” rockets. I handed over developments to the Minister, which I brought from the largest defense expo in Poland. We have agreed with the Brazilian manufacturer Embraer and identified a package of 24 Super Tucano planes, capable of intercepting and destroying rocket Shaheds. Hopefully, by the end of the year, Ukraine will have them.
“European Solidarity” also advocated for a reform with clear timelines for rotation and demobilization. We’re fighting for this.
And today, we once again transferred equipment and supplies worth nearly 30 million hryvnias to the Armed Forces. They were received by the Airborne Forces, Ground Forces, Special Forces, Air Force, Naval Infantry, and Territorial Defense.
We bought two armored LAND ROVER SNATCH vehicles from the UK Ministry of Defense and fully converted them for evacuation. One was received by the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade and the other by the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
The 78th Separate Air Assault Brigade, which we’ve supported since its inception, received a container repair workshop and a motivational flag in the unit’s colors. Similar workshops were provided to the 14th Separate Reconnaissance and 94th Separate Anti-Tank Battalion of the 19th Army Corps, and the 96th Separate Kyiv Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade. Those protecting Kyiv’s skies will now return equipment to combat readiness more quickly.
One hundred “Lightning” strike drones to the 421st Separate UAV Battalion, the 54th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion, the 36th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade, and the 112th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade. Special Operations Forces received a mobile tire-fitting complex with RunFlat technology.
We also handed over 150 “Aspirin 2.0” drone detectors, 50 Starlink Minis, 44 generators, 54 charging stations, and 104 pieces of office equipment. Unlike the government, we are preparing military units for winter.
We could have provided twice as much if the Supreme Court had overturned the illegal sanctions. But despite everything, we continue to work for the military.
