- Interview of the President in Time magazine: a stream of consciousness and lies
▶ On Thursday, the site of Time magazine published the text of the interview with the 47th president, which he gave to the magazine on September 28.
The interview is extensive. In a separate article, a kind of postscript to the interview, published alongside it, Time magazine refutes with facts 12 false claims by the president in this interview.

It has already been mentioned that what the 47th president says and writes in his tweets can be interesting only in terms of understanding how he himself sees the world around him. Everything he says and writes can be divided into two categories.
The first is when he quite consciously makes false statements in order to divert attention from his own disreputable deeds and failures, as well as to mobilize his supporters.
The second is the stream of his consciousness, which reflects how he sees the surrounding world. Lawrence O’Donnell, the host of an authorial information-analytical program on the MS NOW channel, divided this stream of consciousness into two categories. The first is due to the stupidity, illiteracy of the speaker, his misunderstanding of what he is talking about. The second is problems related to the development of age-related dementia.
In any case, this stream of consciousness is indeed what is actually in his head, this is his understanding of the world in which he himself lives and in which we all live.
If you look at samples of his “eloquence” in this interview with Time magazine, it’s quite obvious that his stream of consciousness reflects his immeasurable ego, multiplied by the chaos of thoughts, a misunderstanding of the surrounding world, what is happening in it, and an immeasurable desire to be the all-powerful ruler of everything.
He does not respond to Putin’s threats to start a nuclear war. He does not comment on Russian terrorist attacks on Ukrainian cities. If you familiarize yourself with what he thinks, you’ll understand that there is nothing surprising about this.
So, some of his answers to Time magazine’s questions. And a few comments on these answers.
Question: “Why should Americans believe that you respect press freedom if you limit access to the White House for some of our colleagues?”
Answer: “I respect a free press, but I do not respect fake news. For example, CNN and MSDNC (MSNBC – Ed.) – or as they’re now called, MS NOW, changed their name because of very low ratings. But I won the election. Won decisively, by a huge margin. I won the popular vote. I won in all seven swing states. They said winning three such states was enough, but I took all seven. I won in most districts. This is very important: 86% of the vote… In everything – and quite convincingly. There hasn’t been a single good story about me on CNN for years. They just can’t do it – it’s fake news. The same with MS NOW.
If I accomplished the greatest feat – say, found a cure for cancer, they would still ask: ‘Why didn’t he act faster?’ They’re just terrible people; they behave horribly. I believe in a free press, believe in honest press, but I do not accept fake news. And I know where the fake is because I know how things really stand. I’m not against – you see, if I do something wrong, I don’t mind critical publications. There have been times when they wrote about me like that… I said: ‘Well, listen, they’re right.’ But when it comes to the press… Listen, I’ve done a lot of good. I occupy the Oval Office. The public is very smart. If I wasn’t doing a good job, I wouldn’t have won such a convincing victory at the election.”
Everything in this answer is remarkable. The lie that he got 86% of the votes (in fact, he got 49.8%), his absolute inarticulateness, inability to finish a sentence, jumping from one thing to another, hatred, immeasurable self-admiration – it’s all on the surface. That’s why everything is remarkable because it’s perfectly clear what he represents.
Question: “Did you know in February that they — that is, Tehran — would most likely respond by closing the Strait of Hormuz?”
Answer: “They always threatened to do it, and for a while it worked. But essentially, we blocked that path for them ourselves. You know, they said: ‘We’ll block the strait.’ And I responded: ‘Just try to block it – you’ll have big problems.’ We took control of the situation. You should have seen that coastline: everything is destroyed. They have no radars. No air defense systems. Absolutely nothing. And the New York Times writes how everything is great for them – it’s just madness. Their armed forces are destroyed. Radars destroyed. Leadership eliminated. You know, we’ve taken out two tiers of their leaders, yet the New York Times keeps saying everything is fine for them. They have no money. Their currency is devalued. Nothing works for them – fake news, fake news… Maybe they’ll be next.”
If anyone didn’t understand, the key to the response from the 47th is in the last sentence – he threatens to expel New York Times journalists from the White House. This is what really preoccupies his mind. The fact that Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz and is obstructing the flow of 20-24% of the world’s imported oil concerns him much less.
In other words, finding a contrived reason to expel journalists from another media outlet he despises from the White House is more important to him than anything related to Iran’s blockade of normal navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
At the same time, his bravado about “having the situation under control” is a deliberate lie. He certainly cannot be unaware that Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz, just as he cannot ignore that for seven months the US has been unable to open the strait using military force.
Question: “Are you planning to increase bombings after the midterm elections? There have been reports on this.”
Answer: “Maybe.”
Question: “Are you considering this possibility?”
Answer: “I can’t tell you that because you’re asking where exactly we plan to strike.”
Question: “But is this option being considered?”
Answer: “We have a lot of weapons. You know, we’ve been actively replenishing supplies for the past six months. Biden gave Ukraine a huge amount of ammunition – much more than we expended – but now we are in great shape. We’re in great shape, plus now we are building up our stocks and keeping them to ourselves. And then, you know, we’ll pass them on to others – our allies.”
Question: “Could you tell us more about this? There was an official defense department report on the shortage of ammunition and the need to spend funds…”
Answer: “I would say that it was mostly fake news.”
These responses are fascinating. If the Pentagon’s inspector general publishes a report with information that doesn’t suit him, it’s “fake news.” And, of course, the mantra that Biden gave everything to Ukraine never leaves his mind.
Question: “After the Houthi attacks, there were reports that Saudi Arabia was dissatisfied that the US did not come to its defense. What is your current relationship with the Saudis?”
Answer: “Good, good. I’ve done a lot for Saudi Arabia. I protect Saudi Arabia. If I hadn’t been president, there would be no Saudi Arabia right now. Nor Israel. They would have been wiped off the face of the earth. I do a lot for Saudi Arabia. I have very good relations with them. I like the Crown Prince. We have excellent relations. But remember: if I weren’t here, there would be neither Saudi Arabia nor Israel. And many other countries wouldn’t exist either.”
That’s that. Neither Saudi Arabia nor Israel nor many other countries. They wouldn’t exist. Everything depends on him. This answer is definitely not in the category of lies. He really thinks so. It reflects his consciousness.
Question: “You mentioned the Supreme Court. Last week you said it wasn’t your choice—I mean (justices) Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Coney Barrett; you didn’t even interview them personally. You said they are just a pale shadow of themselves. Do you regret nominating them?”
Answer: “Yes. Yes. What can you do? I appointed them. They vote against me too often. I mean… I gave them a lifetime appointment, and they often vote against me. Although they vote for me too. But the Democrats stick together like glue—these three practically never deviate from the party line. You can propose anything, even the worst thing in the world—they’ll still vote as one. And though I don’t like it, I can’t help but admire such loyalty. They’re loyal to Barack Hussein Obama. They’re loyal to Biden, even though Biden has no idea who they are, for heaven’s sake. He wouldn’t even know. He doesn’t even know what the Supreme Court is. And I… I gave them the chance of a lifetime, and how they acted is regrettable.
It’s regrettable how they acted—not towards me, but towards our country.”
This answer demonstrates the absolute primitiveness of his consciousness and his complete misunderstanding of what a court is, how it works, and the absolute misunderstanding that the judiciary is an independent branch of power from him or anyone else. He is convinced that Supreme Court justices should be guided in their decisions not by law, but by loyalty to the president who appointed them, not by law, but by the policies of the party to which the appointing president belongs, convinced that it should be only this way and no other, and even convinced that judges appointed by Democratic presidents are guided solely by loyalty to those presidents and the Democratic Party. America has known different presidents over its 250 years. But for the first time, its president is someone who fundamentally does not understand one of the foundations of the state—the independence of the court, not understanding that judges must only be subject to the law, completely independent of which president appointed them and which party that president represented.
Question: “Can I ask about sovereign debt? It just reached $40 trillion – that’s an important psychological milestone. In the last couple of years, it has grown by $11 trillion.”
Answer: “Well, Biden has just ruined our country.”
Question: “During the five years you were president, the debt grew by $11 trillion.”
Answer: “Under him, there was the highest inflation in history. He let 25 million people in who shouldn’t have been here. We’re still dealing with it – and it’s the hardest challenge I’ve faced. If he were re-elected – or anyone from his circle, or her, or anyone from them – our country would no longer exist.”
What can I say – Trump’s economic policy led to a $11 trillion increase in sovereign debt during the five and a half years he was in power. That’s more than 25%, more than a quarter of all US sovereign debt in their entire 250-year history. And who’s to blame for this? Of course, Biden. This is a typical example of the 47th president’s lies. Like the statement about the highest inflation in history under Biden, or that Biden allegedly let 25 million people into the country unlawfully. He clearly isn’t going to take responsibility for the absolutely unprecedented growth of sovereign debt, which was the result of his catastrophic financial policy.
Question: “Do you plan to send immigration police agents to polling stations during the midterm elections?”
Answer: “I haven’t thought about it.”
Question: “Do you rule out the possibility of declaring a state of emergency ahead of the midterm elections – unless, of course, there is widespread street unrest?”
Answer: “I rule nothing out and assert nothing for sure. We’ll see. Do you mean the Insurrection Act?”
Time Journalist: “Yes.”
Answer: “No, I’ve never used it. But I could have. Many think I should have sometimes. We have the best indicators… Listen, we have the lowest crime rate in the country’s history. We have the lowest murder rate since 1900 – in 125 years. The lowest murder rate. And that’s despite them letting in 25 million people.”
He excludes nothing. Anything is possible in the US in the next three months.
Question: “Mr. President, your ratings have never been as low as they are now.”
Answer: “These are fake numbers. I would beat anyone currently in the race by 20%. Your data – it’s fake. Pollsters are corrupt. They’re almost as corrupt as journalists.”
And finally.
Question: “Have you seen the video with Mitch McConnell in the Senate? Do you think he should resign due to health issues?”
Answer: “Many Republicans were disappointed. And here’s the thing: ‘Sleepy Joe’ pardoned everyone. Pardoned Fauci, pardoned those, pardoned these. So, I can’t pardon anyone, but ‘Sleepy Joe’ can? Nothing good will come from this story. Here we are sitting… You haven’t asked me a single, damn positive question. It’s all the same. What about this? What about that? This? That? Pure negativity.”
There are 840 days left until the end of the story titled “Fear: Trump in the White House” ©) (the title of Bob Woodward’s book, published in 2018).

Ultimately, what happens in the world depends on us. Whether we fight against evil, do good, remain mere spectators, passively wait and believe that someone somewhere will decide for us, or we fight against evil and do everything possible for Good to prevail.
We must not allow evil to prevail. The victory of evil would mean the end of the world in which we live. We cannot allow this. Especially now.
Ukrainian Friends, I embrace and love you all. Please take care of each other, I ask you sincerely.
Ukraine is and will always be.
And evil will be defeated and punished. And it surely will.
