▶ The 47th president held a cabinet meeting. This was the eleventh full cabinet meeting since Trump took office on January 20, 2025.

The 47th president invented a unique practice, unknown even to members of the Politburo of the CPSU Central Committee. In their meetings, they discussed, decided, even expressed different opinions and voted, and not always unanimously, judging by the stenographic records that researchers managed to see in the early ’90s when archives were briefly accessible. Meetings of the Soviet Politburo were closed, and no one knew what happened. Sparse reports in the CPSU Central Committee’s Politburo, published after meetings starting with Andropov’s rule, typically contained only dry information about some of the decisions made.

Meetings of American presidents’ cabinets were also always naturally closed to the public. Only at the beginning of such meetings were journalists allowed in to ask a few quick questions. After that, the cabinet discussed urgent problems behind closed doors, and if any decisions were made, they could be communicated by the president or a cabinet member afterward.

The 47th president invented a new form of cabinet meetings. Nothing is discussed at these meetings. No decisions are made. Cabinet meetings are broadcast on television and consist of the president answering journalists’ questions, then delivering a long speech before cabinet members praising himself, his ministers, and his policies, while occasionally switching to topics completely unrelated to anything. Then cabinet members take turns stating how happy they are to work in the cabinet of the “greatest president of all time,” implementing his wise policies and following his wise directives. Meanwhile, the president, overwhelmed by the start of his ministers’ speeches, drowses, occasionally opening his eyes, glancing at the next speaker, and closing them again. And so on, and so on…

On Thursday at the cabinet meeting, the 47th president kept talking, jumping from topic to topic, carrying his stream of consciousness:

– about how and with whom to negotiate in Iran – “I don’t care”;

– Iran wants to make a deal;

– the war in Ukraine – it’s not our war;

– NATO doesn’t want to help us fight Iran, we don’t need their help, but we’ll remember this;

– “I aced a cognitive test three times, my result was always excellent”;

– we don’t need the Strait of Hormuz, we have more oil than anyone in the world, we are self-sufficient in oil (apparently, no one can explain to him that American oil is sold within the U.S. at the global price, and the global price is determined by Iran blocking the Strait of Hormuz);

– considering whether to send another 10,000 troops to the Middle East (to be clear, Iran’s army is about half a million people);

– said that Iran allegedly requests a seven-day pause in strikes on its energy facilities;

– stated that the Chairman of the Federal Reserve is a stupid person;

– spent a long time discussing the price of pens and markers used in the White House and how he personally negotiates with the supplier to buy them cheaper.

▶ After the cabinet meeting, further stock market decline, and further rise in oil prices, at 4:11 PM Eastern time, the 47th tweeted:

“At the request of the Iranian government, with this statement I am announcing the suspension of the process of destroying energy facilities for 10 days – until Monday, April 6, 2026, 8:00 PM Eastern time. Negotiations are ongoing, and – contrary to erroneous assertions by ‘fake’ media and others – they are going quite successfully. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President Donald J. Trump”

It’s a familiar story – 5 days, 10 days, two weeks, two months – as usual. Why he wrote this tweet is clear. He feared a new sharp drop in the key stock indexes on Thursday and a new rise in oil prices. The markets closed, but on Friday, the market will open with hope that the war might end – futures for the opening of stock trading on Friday went up, and the oil price fell from $95 to $93 per barrel.

Don’t be surprised if it turns out that someone once again conducted record-breaking operations buying stocks cheaper on Thursday before the closing of trades and selling them more expensively on Friday after they opened. The president is sharing information with someone about when he plans to write the next tweet about the next deadline for postponing something. If he weren’t sharing, there wouldn’t be strange operations on the stock exchange. But there are.

▶ The President had a productive workday. Besides speaking and napping at his cabinet meeting, he actively tweeted—from 6:03 AM to 6:30 PM, he posted 17 tweets. Most tweets contained insults directed at Senate Democrat leader Chuck Schumer.

He also shared a message from a far-right disinformation propaganda source claiming that Ukraine in 2024 was raising funds for Joe Biden’s re-election.

And, he tweeted about “10 days”—intended to boost the stock market.

▶ In a video interview given by Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi, it appears that no negotiations are taking place, as reported by major media citing their sources. The US transmitted a 15-point agreement draft through Pakistan as an intermediary. Iran responded through the same intermediary that the agreement was unacceptable and put forward its own proposal, which includes compensation payments and the preservation of its nuclear and missile programs.

“Defeated,” according to Pentagon head Hegseth, stripped of air defense and navy, Iran continues to attack Israel, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Iraq with missiles and drones and continues to block shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.

▶ The crisis caused by the lack of a budget for the Ministry of Security continues. Another propaganda attempt by Senate Republicans to pass a budget in their version, without considering the Democrats’ requirements, has failed. To open debate on the bill, 60 votes are needed. Republicans have 53 votes. They were again joined by the rightmost Democrat, Senator Fetterman from Pennsylvania. The vote failed.

Meanwhile, the crisis at the country’s airports is worsening by the day. TSA employees—Transportation Security Administration, have been working without pay since February 17. More than 500 have resigned, and some are not reporting to work. Those working for free are doing so without enthusiasm and cannot process the full passenger flow in a timely manner. The queues at airports are enormous; to fly out from any major airport, one needs to wait in line for 3-5 hours.

On Thursday, Trump stated that he instructed the newly appointed Secretary of Homeland Security Mullin to pay TSA employees, as “radical left Democrats” are blocking the security department’s budget. Where will Mullin get this money if there is no budget? In their “big beautiful bill” passed last summer as part of the budget review procedure, which requires a simple majority in the Senate, Republicans, by depriving more than a million people of health insurance and making it more expensive for others than it was, allocated $175 billion to the security department for 2026. All the money, except for $10 billion, went to recruiting new people in immigration police and border patrol service, creating prisons for interned immigrants, and funding immigration police operations. The department can use the $10 billion at its discretion. This money can be used to pay TSA employees. By the way, this decision could have been made on February 17, when the partial shutdown of the department began due to a lack of budget. Democrats in Congress have repeatedly offered to quickly pass a separate TSA budget bill, but Republicans refused to vote for it. The current Republicans have a special knack for creating a crisis because the president wants it, blaming Democrats, refusing to solve the problem for a long time, and then being forced to back down.

▶ On Thursday, a delegation of four so-called deputies from the so-called Russian State Duma arrived in the USA at the invitation of ultra-right Republican Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna from Florida. Apparently, to strengthen “brotherly” ties between the ultra-right wing of the US Republican Party and the “United Russia” party. These so-called “deputies” had sanctions lifted by the State Department. It is not yet known with whom, besides Congresswoman Luna, they will meet. Meanwhile, the State Department decided not to lift sanctions from the chairman of the so-called committee on foreign affairs of the so-called Duma, Slutsky, and did not grant him a visa to enter the USA.

The previous interaction of Republican members of Congress with Russian “colleagues” occurred in 2018 when a Republican delegation visited Moscow.

It can be said with certainty that no Congresswoman Luna made an independent decision to invite Russian “deputies” to the USA. This event was coordinated with the White House, or most likely initiated by them.

▶ On Saturday, the US is expecting the largest protest in the country’s history. In more than 3,200 cities nationwide, across all 50 states, there will be mass marches and rallies against the 47th president under the slogan “No to Kings.”

There are 1,031 days left in the story titled “Fear: Trump in the White House” © (the title of Bob Woodward’s book published in 2018).

Thank you to everyone who read. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Look after each other and help one another. Wishing everyone good health.

Ultimately, what happens in the world depends on us. Whether we fight evil or do good, remain mere observers, passively waiting and believing that someone somewhere will decide for us, or fight evil and do everything possible for good to prevail.

We must not allow evil to triumph. The victory of evil would mean the end of the world we live in. We cannot allow this. Especially now.

Ukrainian friends, I embrace and love you all. Please take care of each other, I urge you strongly.

Ukraine is and will always be.

Evil will be defeated and punished. And this is inevitable.
