Glory to Ukraine!

Glory to the defenders of Ukraine and all modern civilization!

  • Rubio’s “reaction” to the barbaric missile attack on Kyiv (he should have stayed silent)
  • Trump is looking for a way out of his strategic failure – the war with Iran
  • Trump, with the help of Texas Republicans, ousted another classic Republican from politics – Senator Cornyn
  • Tulsi Gabbard resigned from her position as Director of National Intelligence

▶ On the night of Sunday, Russia launched another barbaric attack on Kyiv, one of the most barbaric of the entire war. The United States of America, represented by its 47th president, his secretary of state, and their State Department, remained silent. For them, what happened “did not occur.” They “did not notice.”

However, they have not noticed Russian attacks for over a year (about a year ago the State Department published a very brief “regret” after another attack), only responding to journalists’ requests to react by saying: it’s not good, but what’s unusual, these hit those, and those hit back, so we want the war to end.

This time the reaction was no different. First silence. In response to the attacks. In response to Lavrov’s call, Rubio either with advice or a demand to evacuate the American embassy from Kyiv. And only in response to a journalist’s question was Rubio forced to say something. He tried so hard not to step out of the role of a “neutral peacemaker.”

An American journalist asked Rubio before his departure from India: “May I ask you about your conversation with Lavrov? The official statement said he urged the US to withdraw personnel from Kyiv. Did you discuss the strikes? What can you say regarding these massive Russian strikes on Kyiv – among the largest of the entire war?”

And here’s what Rubio replied: “Well, they sent a notification to all embassies, and I guess he just called me personally to inform me—after all, they warned all embassies: Kyiv will become a very dangerous place. However, Kyiv has been a rather dangerous place for many years now.” “Well, this is how such wars progress. I mean, they just keep escalating. There is a powerful strike from one side—and in response, an even more powerful strike is made; this is how the spiral of violence develops, and the process continues. And that’s why this war needs to end. Listen: every time we observe these massive strikes—from one side or the other—it serves as a reminder of how terrible this war is; it has lasted longer than World War II, and it needs to end. The United States is ready and determined to do everything possible to help end this war. And we hope that at some point there will be an opportunity for us to play this role again.” “At the moment, there are no active—let’s say, planned—negotiations with Ukraine ongoing, but the US is always ready to play a constructive and useful role if the opportunity arises.”

For Rubio, there is neither an aggressor nor a victim of aggression. There is no terrorist Chekist gang that has made the state an instrument of its crimes. There is no war criminal Putin, leading this gang. Instead, there are abstract two sides inexplicably striking each other. And some kind of “constructive and useful role” that he assigns to the US as a “neutral peacekeeper.”

“Little Marco,” as Trump called him in 2016 when Rubio tried to fight Trump for the presidential nomination and in turn called Trump a fraud. A man without a sense of dignity, without conscience, and without morals. Dreaming of becoming president himself and doing everything possible to faithfully serve the 47th president, so that he would not suddenly suspect him of insufficient loyalty.

Shame and disgrace.

As for the threats from the Russian dictator and his henchmen, there is nothing new. This low-quality propaganda has had no effect on anyone. No country has evacuated its diplomats from Kyiv or plans to do so.

▶ Trump continues to seek a way out of the war with Iran. He very much wants to sign some document with Iran as soon as possible, which he will declare his victory. He already announced on Saturday and Sunday that they’ve mostly agreed on everything. But Iran is not in a hurry.

According to American media, this alleged document is a memorandum, according to which the Strait of Hormuz will be opened for shipping, the U.S. will lift the blockade of Iranian ports, a ceasefire will be observed, including Israel’s war with Hezbollah, and negotiations on Iran’s nuclear and missile programs will be held within 60 days.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has preemptively attacked Iranian air defense systems (which, according to Pentagon head Hegseth, have already been destroyed) because their radars were “tracking” American planes in the air. And Iran is threatening retaliatory strikes.

Let’s analyze what goals Trump proclaimed for the war in his video address on the night of February 28, published on his social network Truth Social, and what has actually been achieved.

Trump characterized this operation as having five main goals:

1) Elimination of what he called “imminent threats” to the United States and its allies.

The “imminent threats” to the U.S. were not explained by the President either then or later. Neither he nor his ministers have clarified this so far.

2) Destruction or serious weakening of Iran’s nuclear and missile programs. Trump claimed that Iran is moving towards acquiring the capability of a nuclear state and developing missiles that could eventually pose a threat to the continental U.S. He presented this campaign as a preemptive war intended to stop Iran before it acquires nuclear weapons.

Iran’s nuclear potential remains unchanged. Iran possesses 500 kg of uranium enriched to 60%, enough to produce several nuclear bombs, and an additional 10.5 tons of less enriched uranium that can be quickly enriched to 60%. Iran’s missile potential has decreased, but according to American media citing intelligence sources and from questions posed by Democratic senators and congressmen during hearings in both houses of Congress, Iran has retained at least half of its missile potential. This includes the stock of ballistic missiles, mobile launchers for them, and the capacity to produce both missiles and launchers.

3) Neutralization of the military infrastructure and proxy networks of the Iranian regime.

The Iranian regime’s proxy forces were not neutralized. Hamas controls nearly half of Gaza and does not intend to disarm. Hezbollah is at war with Israel and, it seems, retains significant potential to continue this war.

4) Exerting pressure on the Iranian regime to force it to capitulate or collapse. Trump directly appealed to the fighters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to “lay down their arms,” promising them immunity. Otherwise, he warned, they face “certain death.” This indicated an expectation that the regime’s power structure might fracture under military pressure.

The capitulation did not occur. The regime’s power structure did not fracture. The regime’s “politburo” saw a change in composition with the removal of several leaders, including the supreme leader, but the essence of the regime remained unchanged. Moreover, it appears that the IRGC’s role in the regime has significantly increased, making the regime more rigid.

5) Supporting regime change initiated by the Iranian people themselves. Trump directly appealed to the Iranian people. He stated that after the military campaign concludes, Iranians should “take power into their own hands,” calling it possibly “the only chance for many generations.”

By this, Trump implied that the expected outcome of the war should be regime change. This was actually the main goal of the war. However, this main goal was not achieved. It could not be achieved because ideological dictatorships like Iran do not fall due to bombings and missile strikes.

After that video address by Trump on the night of February 28, something occurred that the 47th president did not foresee at all. Iran blocked the Strait of Hormuz. Despite Trump and his Secretary of Defense Hegset repeatedly assuring that the Iranian fleet lay at the bottom of the sea, it turned out that a fleet wasn’t necessary to block the Strait of Hormuz. Along with the Strait, Iran also blocked 20% of the world’s oil and liquefied gas imports and 30% of the global fertilizer imports. This led to a significant rise in the price of oil, all energy resources, electricity, fertilizers, and agricultural products, triggering inflation worldwide, especially in developed countries, including the US. Rising costs lead to an economic slowdown, threatening stagflation – inflation along with a lack of economic growth.

This became the main problem for the 47th president, as he didn’t expect such developments. Five months before the Congressional elections, this becomes an existential issue for him: rising inflation is a direct path for Trump and the Republicans to defeat in the Congressional elections.

It is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz that Trump is now most concerned about. However, he still cannot resolve this issue.

When a country that started a war cannot achieve any strategic goals it set, it means it has suffered a strategic failure. This is precisely how today’s war results with Iran are assessed by Democratic lawmakers, members of both chambers’ armed forces and intelligence committees, as they tell administration and military representatives in open hearings.

▶ On Tuesday, Donald Trump pushed another Republican out of politics – Texas Senator John Cornyn. In the second round of the Republican primaries in Texas, Cornyn lost to a loyal MAGA supporter accused of fraud (who had made a deal with the prosecution), Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who was actively supported by Trump. After 80% of the ballots were processed, Paxton garnered 64% of the votes, while Cornyn received 36%. The turnout among ordinary Texas Republicans was high, with about 1.5 million registered Texas Republicans participating in the primaries.

Cornyn is perhaps the first of the well-known Republicans whom Trump turned against not because he opposed his policies, voted to convict him in an impeachment, or voted against Trump-desired bills. On the contrary, Cornyn always voted as Trump wished. However, he did not publicly deliver loyal speeches, did not express happiness at living and working during the time of the greatest president of all time, nor did he seek to play golf with Trump. Therefore, he appeared insufficiently loyal in Trump’s eyes.

The 47th president actively supported Paxton and slandered Cornyn, directly accusing him of insufficient loyalty.

Paxton will compete in the elections with the young and energetic winner of the Democratic primaries, Texas legislature representative James Talarico. Democrats haven’t won a Senate election in Texas since 1988, when Texas was the first of all American states to become consistently “red,” Republican. In the Talarico-Paxton duel, Democrats have a chance. Whether the 37-year-old Democratic candidate succeeds in doing what other Democratic candidates have not achieved in 38 years depends on whether he can attract more independent voters and possibly even a small portion of traditional Republicans who voted for Cornyn (some from this category might abstain from voting for a Democrat but could choose not to vote at all).

And Cornyn, first elected to the Senate in 2002, remains a senator until January 3, 2027. Whether he will continue to vote on all bills and issues in a way that pleases Trump will be seen when Congress returns from recess.

▶ On Saturday, it was announced that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is resigning. She announced that her husband has been diagnosed with a rare cancer, and she needs to focus completely on supporting and caring for him.

We can only wish Tulsi Gabbard’s husband health and successful treatment.

Tulsi Gabbard was undoubtedly the most (and perhaps the only ever) incompetent Director of National Intelligence. This is a very important position that coordinates the activities of all intelligence agencies. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence prepares daily intelligence briefings for presidents. This position should be held by someone with the appropriate experience. Gabbard was the first director with no experience required for this job. She is known for her publicly expressed sympathies for Putin, former Syrian dictator Assad, and Snowden, who fled to Russia with terabytes of secret documents.

Gabbard became the fourth high-ranking official in the administration to leave her post in less than a year and a half of the second Trump administration. Previously, Homeland Security Secretary Noem and Attorney General Bondi were dismissed, and the Labor Secretary resigned. Trump appointed a new security secretary. But the federal prosecutor’s office and labor ministry are headed by acting officials. Now the Office of the Director of National Intelligence will also be headed by an acting director.

There are 970 days left until the end of the story titled “Fear: Trump in the White House” © (the title of Bob Woodward’s book, published in 2018).

Thank you to everyone who read this. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Take care of each other, help each other. Health to all.

Ultimately, what happens in the world depends on us. Whether we fight against evil, do Good, remain mere spectators, passively wait and believe that someone somewhere will decide something for us, or we fight against evil and do everything possible for Good to prevail.

We must not allow evil to prevail. The victory of evil would mean the end of the world we live in. We cannot allow this. Especially now.

Ukrainian Friends, I hug and love you all. Take care of each other, I ask you very much.

Ukraine exists and will always exist.

And evil will be defeated and punished. And that is certain.
