The excitement around citing Zaluzhny is completely incomprehensible to me.
Zaluzhny is a living person. Clearly, he was outraged by the actions of the secret service in 2022, which came to search the general staff. And the SBU confirms that this happened and claims it was a mistake.
Zaluzhny has every right to have his own opinion on the failure of the counteroffensive. And why not?
And yes, he clearly says that there are no elections now, and he’s not thinking about it at the moment.
The problem is not with Zaluzhny, but with our perception of normal state governance in a democracy.
How so? Some ambassador allowed himself to question the actions of the former head of the president’s office? Or maybe even the president himself?
And why not? If there was an election campaign now, this would be unethical. But there are no elections. And there won’t be for a long time. Therefore, any analysis of mistakes is not only useful but necessary. First of all, this is needed by Zaluzhny, Zelensky, and society.
We need to get out of the state of pre-election struggle, at least while there are no elections. And learn not to make the mistakes that Zaluzhny talks about.
But for this, Zelensky must stop feeding a pack of pro-Russian sellout bloggers and “communicators,” whose goal is to divide and weaken Ukrainian society under the guise of loyalty to Zelensky in favor of Russia.
I consider Zelensky’s removal of Zaluzhny, who enjoyed public support, a mistake and a wise step that he kept Zaluzhny in the state team. Now it’s necessary to learn to unite and expand this team after the collapse of the “5-6 managers” governance.
