  • The 47th president continues his main “war” today — with disloyal Republicans
  • Corruption

▶ In the last 2-3 days, observers from various countries have been focused on the tweets of the 47th president about Iran and statements in which he commented on what he had written in the tweets.

On Sunday at 12:42 PM, Trump again threatened in a tweet that nothing would remain of Iran:

“For Iran, the clock is ticking, and they had better move FAST – or nothing will be left of them. EVERY MINUTE COUNTS! President D.J.T.”

At the same time, news feeds reported with references to “sources” that on Tuesday the United States might resume strikes on Iran.

However, a little over a day passed, and on Monday at 15:01 the 47th wrote another tweet:

“Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, and President of the United Arab Emirates Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan appealed to me with a request to postpone our planned military attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was scheduled for tomorrow. They justified this by stating that serious negotiations are currently underway and that, in their opinion—as Great Leaders and Allies—a Deal will be concluded that will be very acceptable to the United States of America and to all countries of the Middle East and other regions. It is important to note that this Deal will provide: NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN! Out of respect for the aforementioned Leaders, I ordered Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Kane, and the US Armed Forces that we will NOT carry out the planned attack on Iran tomorrow; however, I also instructed them to be ready to commence a full-scale, massive strike on Iran at any moment—should an acceptable Deal not be reached. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

In reality, it’s quite obvious that the 47th president never planned any attacks on Iran. Here’s why. On Monday morning, he sent Secretary of Defense Hegseth to Kentucky to campaign against Republican Congressman Thomas Massie, whom Trump considers his arch-enemy and who was running in the Republican primaries in his Kentucky district on Tuesday against Ed Gahlrein, the candidate nominated by the 47th president.

And it was this “battle,” not a war with Iran, the Iranian nuclear program, or the blocked Strait of Hormuz, that was the main focus for the president. That’s why he sent his Secretary of Defense (as he calls him, the “minister of war”) to this battle. If a new attack on Iran had been planned for Tuesday, the Secretary of Defense would surely have been at work on Monday, not speaking at an election rally in Kentucky.

But once again, the main focus these days for the 47th president was the “battle” to oust Congressman Massie from politics. Tom Massie is a right-wing conservative Republican. He is even significantly further to the right in his views than classical Republican conservatives, who are becoming fewer in politics. But Massie perhaps takes the slogan “America First” too literally. The 47th president interprets this slogan as “Trump First and instead of everything.” And Massie, thinking of “America First” in his conservative framework, often votes in the House of Representatives against what pleases the 47th president. But last year, there was an event that made Trump see Massie as his arch-enemy. Tom Massie, together with Democrat Ro Khanna, developed and submitted a bill to disclose all files of the criminal case against serial pedophile, rapist, and trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. After Speaker Johnson refused to include this bill in the agenda, Massie and Khanna started gathering signatures for its consideration. Ultimately, they gathered the necessary 218 signatures, and the 47th president, who fought against the adoption of this bill, had to back down—the bill was passed: in the House of Representatives with one vote against and unanimously in the Senate. However, vindictiveness is one of Trump’s main character traits. He decided to take revenge on Massie by putting forward his own candidate against him in the Republican primaries in his district in Kentucky. A record amount of money (over $30 million—a record for a provincial electoral district) was invested in the campaign against Massie. The “minister of war” was sent for the decisive battle on the day of the primaries.

From Saturday morning to Tuesday morning, the 47th president published 11 tweets attacking Massie, slandering him, and the mildest thing he said about Massie in these tweets was “The worst and most unreliable Republican congressman in our country’s history.”

And in this “battle,” Donald Trump celebrates a victory. After counting 97% of the votes cast in the Republican primary of Kentucky’s 4th district, Tom Massie has 45.2%, while his opponent, Trump’s nominee and loyal MAGA supporter Ed Gallrein, has 54.8%.

And you thought he was busy with Iran? No, he had a more important “battle” for him. On Saturday – in Louisiana, where he managed to oust Republican Senator Bill Cassidy in the primaries, not only not a MAGA supporter, but a classic conservative who also voted to convict Trump in the second impeachment. And on Tuesday, he ousted Republican Congressman Tom Massie from politics.

This answers the question of why Republican legislators fear Trump more than anything else. Because any sign of not just disloyalty but even insufficient loyalty in Trump’s opinion results in such a legislator immediately facing a loyal MAGA supporter in the Republican primary, nominated and supported by Trump. And such a MAGA supporter is guaranteed to win in the party primaries. Because for the majority of rank-and-file Republicans voting in them, the 47th president is a leader, idol, slogan, idea – all together. This is called a cult of personality. In classic form.

However, there is one important detail that the president, triumphant so far in the Republican primaries, does not take into account. The ultra-right MAGA candidates he supports win in the Republican primaries. But on November 3, they will have to compete with Democrats. And the votes of Republicans alone will be completely insufficient for their victory. The decisive factor will be the votes of independent voters, 80% of whom, according to the latest polls, do not currently support Trump and disapprove of his activities as president. This is the lowest rating among independent voters in history. Therefore, the victories Trump is achieving in the primaries today may turn out to be Pyrrhic victories in November.

However, the president does not stop. On Tuesday, he made the long-awaited decision to support his supporter, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, in the second round of the Republican primaries for the Senate election in Texas against long-time senator and classic conservative John Cornyn. Cornyn did not vote to convict Trump in his impeachment trials. He votes for all the bills Trump promotes. He has never criticized the president on any issue. But he has never said how happy he is to work at the same time as the greatest president in history, he long opposed eliminating the filibuster rule in the Senate (the need to get 60 votes to start and end discussion of bills). He did not deliver MAGA sermons. In short, he is “not one of us” in the current Republican Party. As for Paxton, as Soviet encyclopedias used to say, he is a faithful disciple and comrade of the leader.

On Tuesday at 12:30, the 47th president published a long tweet, from which we present two quotations:

“The highly esteemed Attorney General of the State of Texas, Ken Paxton, is a Patriot who adheres to the principle of ‘America First’ and a person who has always been immensely loyal to me and our AMAZING MAGA movement, is running for the U.S. Senate to represent a region I love and where I won BIG victories THREE TIMES, gaining 6.4 million votes in 2024 (which, WITHOUT A DOUBT, was the highest result in state history)!
I know Ken well; I’ve seen him test his mettle at the highest and most challenging levels—and he is a WINNER! Ken is a staunch supporter of REPEALING THE FILIBUSTER.”

“Ken is a true warrior of the MAGA movement who has ALWAYS fulfilled his commitments to Texas and will continue to do so in the U.S. Senate.”

It can be added that Paxton is a fraudster who did not go to jail only because he made a deal with the prosecution, whereby charges of fraud were dropped in exchange for a $300,000 compensation, 100 hours of community service, and attending an ethics course. Apparently, such people are organically close to a president who himself was found guilty of falsifying 34 financial documents.

The second round of the Republican primaries in Texas will take place in a week, next Tuesday. If Paxton wins (which is very likely), Democrats will have a chance to realistically compete for victory in Texas elections for the first time since 1988. Their candidate, James Talarico, may be much more acceptable to a significant number of independent voters in Texas than Paxton. However, if Cornyn unexpectedly wins the primaries, it would be a very painful defeat for Trump. However, such a development is unlikely.

And now about this “war” of Trump’s. He ousted Republican Senator Cassidy from politics on Saturday. However, he will remain in politics until January 3, 2027. Until then, he remains a senator. On Tuesday, Trump lost Cassidy’s vote on a matter of principle for him. The Senate voted to advance a resolution on the president’s military powers, requiring a prohibition on the president continuing a war with Iran without Congress’s consent. The Senate moved forward with the resolution, with the voting results at 50:47 (three Republicans were absent). Along with 46 Democrats, Republicans Collins and Murkowski (who are not influenced by Trump), Paul (who believes the US should not wage war with Iran but focus on domestic issues), and Cassidy, who now has complete freedom to vote according to his conscience, supported the resolution. One Democrat, Senator Fetterman from Pennsylvania, once again voted with the other Republicans.

▶ On Monday, the Department of Justice announced the creation of a fund through which $1.776 billion in compensation will be distributed to those who “suffered” from “political persecution” by the prosecutor’s office. The fund will operate secretly, and the recipients of the money will not be announced. The 47th president explained that this fund will provide compensation to those who suffered from “Biden’s persecution.” The first likely recipients will obviously be all participants in the Capitol takeover on January 6, 2021.

Simple scheme: committed any crime in the name of and at the call of the leader -> received a pardon -> received large sums of money.

The name of the first applicant demanding money is already known — Michael Caputo, a former Trump adviser and employee of his first administration. He demands $2.7 million in “compensation” for being under investigation as part of the counterintelligence operation “Crossfire Hurricane,” conducted by the FBI in 2016 regarding Russia’s interference in the US elections on Trump’s side.

And former National Security Advisor to Trump in his first administration, Michael Flynn, even before the creation of the fund, received $1.25 million in “compensation” for being “persecuted” by the FBI and the prosecutor’s office on the same case. Flynn was caught giving false testimony to the FBI about his conversations with the Russian ambassador, in which he promised to lift sanctions on Russia, and he pleaded guilty. However, he later retracted his admission and was pardoned by Trump.

All this money, of course, comes from the budget, meaning it’s taxpayers’ money, used for expenses not provided for by Congress in the budget law, hence taken completely illegally. However, since the Republican majority in the House of Representatives will under no circumstances initiate impeachment proceedings against the president over this, the president continues doing what he wants. This situation may change only after the November elections, if the Democrats win them.

The creation of the “fund” is presented by the Justice Department as part of Trump’s “deal” with his administration. The fact is, Trump, as a private individual (even while being president) filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, effectively against himself, demanding a $10 billion compensation from the budget for “moral damage” because his tax returns from ten years were “leaked” to The New York Times during his first presidency. The “settlement” between Trump as a private individual and Trump as president seems to include the creation of such a “compensation fund.”

Another part of this “settlement” became known on Tuesday. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, a former lawyer for Trump in his criminal cases, issued an order that no investigations into possible tax crimes and abuses committed by Donald Trump, his family members, and affiliated businesses can be conducted—for all past times and while Trump is president.

If you’re interested in an example of what corruption is, this is perhaps the most striking example. You can explain to your children with this example, as it illustrates the scientific definition of corruption as “the abuse of official position for personal gain—using the powers and rights entrusted to an official, as well as related to this official status of authority, opportunities, and connections for personal benefit, contravening laws and moral standards.”

Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren from Massachusetts called Trump’s recent actions and those of his Acting Attorney General and the Justice Department “corruption on steroids.”

There are 977 days left until the end of the story titled “Fear: Trump in the White House” © (the title of Bob Woodward’s book, published in 2018).

Ultimately, what happens in the world depends on us. On whether we fight evil, do Good, remain mere observers, passively wait and believe that someone somewhere will decide for us, or fight evil and do everything possible to ensure Good prevails.

We must not allow evil to win. The victory of evil would mean the end of the world we live in. We cannot allow this. Especially now.

Ukrainian Friends, I embrace and love you all. Please take care of each other, I ask you very much.

Ukraine exists and will always exist.

And evil will be defeated and punished. And it will surely happen.
