Chief Economist of Russia’s Vnesheconombank, Andrey Klepach, during a Nikitsky Club session, said that sanctions and the Western blockade are increasing the costs of the Russian economy, and Ukrainian strikes on ports, infrastructure, chemical plants, and oil refineries are causing more and more damage to Russia.
Klepach stated that Russia is losing technological and economic competition not only to the USA and China, but in certain aspects even to Ukraine.
He acknowledged that the Ukrainian economy has suffered significant destruction and is experiencing demographic issues. At the same time, he noted that despite this, the Ukrainian economy continues to function due to substantial financial assistance. In short, as long as Europe supports Ukraine, Russia cannot break us.
Valuable observation. “Are the elites in Russia coming to their senses?”, “Are Putin and his associates exploring an exit from the war?”, “Will there be negotiations soon?”.
Not at all. Traditionally, all challenges to the “fulfillment of objectives” by Putin are seen as a motivation to make more efforts.
Is Europe hindering the breaking of Ukraine? Supporting and saving it? Let’s break this connection!
And they will break it. By the way, it seems that Klepach has already been dismissed for speaking out, since it’s not supposed to be aired.
Armed provocations will increase, missile and drone “incursions”, explosions at factories and depots, to create a sense of danger.
Populists of all sorts will receive even more financial, informational, and technological support. Look, Le Pen is licking her lips in France, “Alternative” in Germany, and how many more like them across Europe…
Freaks and haters also receive support — to quarrel with Ukrainians, scream “we have too little”, scare with migrants and other boogeymen… And so on, and so forth.
The most important thing for Ukraine is to stop playing along.
Deal with the corrupt officials, so as not to give evidence to the heralds of a “corrupt Ukraine where European money is being drained”.
Begin fulfilling agreements on the path to the EU — stop tiring friends and feeding critics.
Shift from “diplomacy of affect” and start professional work on turning opponents into supporters, not the other way around.
Which of these points does the government plan to implement?..
So why are we surprised that the rashists are full of optimism?..
