Mendel built her interview on the classic propaganda scheme – 80% truth and 20% lies that she wants to promote. When she tells the truth, trust is formed in the audience because the parts of the truth she speaks, we have lived here in Ukraine and know from our own experience.
Unfortunately, once trust is formed, propagandists can easily use it. Mendel, who has skillfully wielded propaganda since her work in Ukraine, uses the trust she earns with the portion of truth she tells in the interview to advance her ideas.
Mendel is an ideological supporter and has always been one. Even after joining the service of the President of Ukraine, she did not cease to be a supporter and genuinely despised Ukraine, the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian journalists, and Ukrainian civil society. All her work in the position was aimed at destroying democracy and establishing authoritarianism.
And now when she comes out and attacks Zelensky, this is not criticism of Zelensky himself, but resentment that he did not become a full-fledged dictator like Lukashenko, whom supporter Mendel wanted to see leading Ukraine. He simply did not meet her expectations for a “strong hand” that everyone fears, where people disappear and others quietly sit to avoid being next. Zelensky’s authoritarianism in economic and financial matters was not brutal enough to satisfy Mendel.
Therefore, she takes revenge. The latest interview was recorded to make Ukrainians believe this is not their war and not to resist the Russians.
To be believed, she told the truth about corruption, Mindich, and then spiced it with lies that the war could end by giving up Donbas.
This topic, giving something to Russia to get them to back off, is very popular among latent supporters in Ukraine. They are afraid to admit that in our war for independence, they are on Russia’s side but actively promote Russian-favored theses. One of them is the idea that Ukraine simply didn’t give something Russia wanted, which is why the war has continued for many years and Ukrainians are being killed.
This is a false position, and here one should NOT listen to people like Mendel. Because the whole history of our war shows that Russia gets what it wanted but does NOT stop!
Did Russia want a land corridor to Crimea? They got it! Did they stop? No! Did Russia want to capture Mariupol and gain full control of the Sea of Azov? They captured and gained it! Did they stop? No! Russia desired buffer zones in Kharkiv and Sumy, a nuclear power plant in Enerhodar, Avdiivka, Bakhmut, Pokrovske – Russia has all of this. Do they stop? Certainly not!
Mendel’s calls to give up Donbas to save lives are deeply deceitful. Because the whole HISTORY of our war shows that if we give up Donbas, tomorrow they will want Kharkiv, Odessa, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia.
No matter how much truth Mendel speaks about corruption, CCC, or some personal things about Zelensky, know this – all the truth is presented not to make your life better but to help Russia capture ALL of Ukraine faster.
Because supporters never change. The Russian world settled in her head a long time ago, and she sincerely wants us to be part of the Russian world. With a strong hand, a dead civil society, clean streets. So that everyone stays home and doesn’t make noise, to have order as supporters love.
But this will never happen with us. That’s why Mendel is told to go away. No amount of truth with which she coats her lies is worth citing or promoting her as a fighter against corruption or authoritarianism. It is merely Russian propaganda that should be driven away and dismissed.
