Focused meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine, Roelof Sander van Ees.
Amid constant Russian attacks, we discussed in detail Ukraine’s urgent needs for strengthening air defense, primarily to protect energy and critical infrastructure. I thanked the Netherlands for its unwavering solidarity with Ukraine and its significant contribution to strengthening our defense capabilities. We anticipate the continuation of this support, the development of joint defense projects, and the deepening of cooperation that will enable us to turn the experience of Ukrainian defenders into practical solutions to enhance security throughout Europe.
Considerable attention was paid to the prospects for ending the war and the diplomatic process. I am convinced that the path to real negotiations begins with a complete and unconditional ceasefire.
I thanked the Netherlands for supporting Ukraine on its path to EU membership and emphasized the need to maintain the pace of negotiations to open all clusters by the end of the year. In this context, we discussed the importance of adopting the necessary legislation in parliament. We also exchanged views on the state of democracy in Ukraine, the rule of law, media freedom, multi-party parliamentarism, and the respect for opposition rights.
