Traffic jams are paralyzing Kyiv. Under attack are hospitals, high-rises, critical energy infrastructure. The enemy is increasingly rarely using ordinary “Shaheds” against Ukrainian cities. Instead, there are “Banderoles,” reactive “Shaheds,” “Geranium-5.”
The technological advantage gained in previous years, Russia has not only caught up — it claims to have surpassed it. Unfortunately, there is no full-fledged response to this weapon today from either Ukraine or Europe.
Therefore, the working trip to Brussels and meeting with the Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz was about strengthening Ukraine’s defense capability. First of all, about drones and interceptor missiles to protect civilians. We are also working on the Super Tucano so that these aircraft can quickly counter the “Shaheds.” Additionally, I talked about increasing the supplies of interceptor missiles for the F-16.
But there is another equally important issue that we cannot postpone — Ukraine’s membership in the EU. Ukraine needs to open the next two negotiation clusters. I discussed this with Friedrich Merz, EU commissioners, and at the European People’s Party Political Assembly.
Already next week, on October 15, the European Council should make critically important decisions for our country. I have cautious optimism that these two clusters will be opened for us. Of course, if Ukraine fulfills its homework.
European Solidarity is actively involved in the European integration process: we are proposing a number of amendments to bills and discussing them with European partners. We are doing everything possible for Ukraine to achieve long-awaited membership in the European Union.
In addition to agreements and developments with our European partners, we are investing in the development and production of means to counteract the enemy’s technical reconnaissance. We have early very encouraging successes. Three reactive “Shaheds” fell into the Dnipro without detonations. Two industrial facilities averted an enemy strike. All this was done by new upgraded “Ai-Petri” systems.
Therefore, today we are handing over 10 more complexes to the Armed Forces. We have switched production to war footing and are maximizing the output of upgraded systems. This batch is the result of cooperation with the head of the Obukhiv district council: together, we found subsidies and organized logistics.
No matter how hard it is, we must continue to fight, unite around common values, and resist the enemy.
