Today, there is much talk about increasing funding for the security and defense sector. Indeed, Ukraine will receive significant international support to strengthen the state’s defense capabilities.
In the coming days, the government bill on directing one and a half trillion hryvnias to the needs of the Armed Forces will be considered in the Verkhovna Rada. But it is extremely important that every hryvnia works effectively, transparently, and primarily for those holding the front line.
Because out of the entire amount, only one and a half billion hryvnias are directed to the needs of the Ministry of Defense, while twenty billion is transferred to other law enforcement agencies, of which sixteen billion is received by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
We are convinced that these funds should be received by units directly performing combat tasks. Among them are brigades of the Armed Forces, the National Guard, the National Police, the SBU, and other law enforcement agencies. But our team categorically opposes a situation where financial support is increased for those who are in the rear and not involved in the country’s defense, while those on the front lines are deprived of it.
That is why tomorrow in parliament, we will fundamentally advocate for increasing funding for the military on the front line. So that those performing combat tasks finally receive proper support.
And today, as is tradition, we are strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities and handing over five new units to the guys demonstrating good results working on the ‘Ai-Petri’ complexes.
This is another step in preserving the lives of our military and civilians. Because the war has changed. The kill zone has expanded significantly. The enemy spares no resources on drones, intelligence, and strikes on the rear. And if once the danger zone was only the line of combat contact, today peaceful cities and critical infrastructure are also under attack.
Currently, over 300 ‘Ai-Petri’ complexes are operating practically along the entire front line.
And we are already preparing for winter. We are looking for comprehensive solutions to protect energy and critical infrastructure. Negotiations are underway with major manufacturers, developers, and partners. The work does not stop for a day. Because the enemy is changing. And we must be faster.
Five new complexes are already heading to the military. And that means only one thing: we still have a lot of work ahead of us.
But we definitely know why we are doing it. For Ukraine. For our people. And for victory.
