News from the USA. Saturday, October 10, 2026
Ihor Aizenberg

▶ I wanted to dedicate this week’s news release to the elections in the USA, the results of the latest polls, and an analysis of the pre-election situation. I will do this in the next release on Sunday, as today most readers are definitely interested in the analysis of Trump’s latest statements rather than the elections. However, despite everything, the upcoming elections are the defining event in the USA. Because it is the elections that determine Trump’s statements and actions. And it is the elections that will determine the near and more distant future of the country. But we will return to the topic of elections tomorrow.

Since everyone is focused on today’s statement by Trump, let’s talk about it.

Did the 47th president say anything new today?

No. Nothing new.

He said that

– Zelensky does not want and does not know how to make deals (he has said this many times);

– Zelensky could have ended the war many times but does not want to make a deal (he has also said this many times);

– Zelensky should be replaced by another president who will make a deal (he has also said this many times);

– That if he were president, there would be no war (he has repeated this hundreds, if not thousands of times).

– That he ended 8 wars (he has repeated this also hundreds, if not thousands of times)

Information theory states that the entropy of an information message is higher when there is more unpredictability and uncertainty regarding the appearance of each subsequent element of the information message. Entropy is equal to the average amount of information per message element generated by the source of information.

Did Trump say anything new today? No, no, and again no.

Can we even expect anything new from him? Can he report something new? No, no, and again no.

Trump sees the world in a framework where there are three “strong men” — himself, Putin, and Xi. Everyone else is insignificant, meaningless figures who should obey their “strong men,” not get underfoot, not interfere, and certainly not claim any agency.

Is there a place in this framework for Ukraine? No, no, and once again no. And there never has been. Throughout his political career, which began in the summer of 2015 with the announcement that he was running for president, Ukraine was, is, and remains a factor that hinders him from having close relations with Putin and dividing the world into spheres of influence with Putin and Xi.

In Trump’s framework, Ukraine’s place is in Putin’s sphere of influence, and it should obey its “strong man.” If this “strong man” doesn’t want Ukraine to exist, then so it should be.

Again, I remind you how former National Security Advisor John Bolton (in 2018-2019) in his book about working in the Trump administration and former Trump ambassador to the EU Gordon Sondland (in 2017-2019) during testimony in the House of Representatives’ hearings on Trump’s first impeachment both recounted, without collusion, that Trump said on various occasions in their presence that he didn’t care about Ukraine.

Does anyone seriously think Donald Trump will suddenly have an epiphany, change his worldview, and his attitude towards Ukraine? The impossible doesn’t happen.

Adults do change their views. But this happens when a person does significant intellectual work on themselves. This is certainly not about the 47th president. He is fundamentally incapable of this. Intellectual work on oneself involves acquiring new knowledge and reflecting on it. Is anyone expecting such work from the 47th? One might as well wait for an eternal spring with blooming trees and a temperature of 23 degrees Celsius.

Zelensky on Friday called Trump’s “deal” with Putin on diesel fuel a “weak decision by a strong partner.” Obviously, the Ukrainian president meant the U.S. as a partner, not their 47th president.

With his Saturday statement, Trump once again demonstrated his weakness, malice, vindictiveness, and powerlessness. The same powerlessness he displayed during the infamous Oval Office meeting when he shouted “you have no cards.”

Of course, he can retaliate by depriving Ukraine of access to intelligence. But he can never force Ukraine to capitulate. He cannot make Ukraine stop hitting those targets in Russia that the Ukrainian command deems necessary to hit.

In Trump’s framework, there is no place for Ukraine.

But there is also no place for Norway (a NATO ally of the US), which he insulted in a series of Saturday tweets for not giving him the Nobel Peace Prize.

No place for Spain.

No place for a united Europe.

No place for Canada.

No place for Taiwan.

No place for the entire liberal-democratic civilization that the US itself created after World War II.

There is no place because there is no room for the values of freedom, democracy, human rights, international law.

There is an insatiable desire to convert his presidential power into money for himself, his family, his friends.

There is a desire to divide the world into three with Putin and Xi. And this division includes the destruction of the EU and liberal democracy in European countries by bringing far-rights to power with Putin’s help. The undermining of liberal democracy in Canada through the support of separatist forces in Quebec and Alberta.

Do not expect him to change, to ‘see the light.’ This will never happen.

But he may find himself in a situation of political zugzwang if the Democrats win the congressional elections on November 3.

He may find himself in a situation where he will be forced to do what he absolutely does not want to do. Or in a situation where his power will be paralyzed if he is not willing to find common ground with the newly elected Congress. He will come under investigations by the oversight and judiciary committees of the House of Representatives, and all his unprecedented acts of corruption in American history, reported by the media with references to ‘sources,’ will be documented and made public.

He knows this.

He is nervous.

That is why he is showing his weakness. When a malicious person is nervous and wants to appear as lord of the world, he always appears weak.

There are 833 days left until the end of the story titled ‘Fear: Trump in the White House’ © (the title of Bob Woodward’s book, published in 2018).

Thank you all for reading. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. Take care of each other, help each other. Health to all.

Ultimately, what happens in the world depends on us. Whether we fight against evil, do good, remain mere observers, passively wait and believe that someone somewhere will decide for us, or fight evil and do everything possible to ensure that good triumphs.

We must not let evil triumph. The victory of evil will mean the end of the world we live in. We cannot allow this. Especially now.

Ukrainian friends, I embrace and love you all. Please take care of each other, I urge you very much.

Ukraine is and will always be.

And evil will be defeated and punished. And this will definitely happen.
