On Pryamyi, they discussed the outcomes of the Munich Security Conference and expectations for the Geneva meeting.
Main points:
⁃ The world is entering a qualitatively new era of international relations. Washington is reassessing the hierarchy of its foreign priorities, and Europe is no longer the unconditional center of its attention. Now, the focus of international cooperation is not on “common values” but on common interests.
– Europe must be at the peace negotiation table regarding Ukraine. It’s not just about our country; it’s about the security of the entire continent.
– An important task for the Ukrainian delegation at the Geneva meetings would be to break the treacherous “spirit of Anchorage” emphasized by the aggressor.
⁃ A troubling signal is the attempt by the US to return Russia to global politics without a clear answer to the question: under what conditions will the war end. For Ukraine, it is crucial that Russia does not gain more at the negotiation table than it has achieved on the battlefield.
⁃ For the Kremlin, diplomacy is a continuation of war by other means. Therefore, the strength of sanctions, long-range weapons, and transatlantic unity remain key to forcing Russia to end the war.
⁃ Ukraine’s EU membership is considered an important security guarantee, but the date of accession depends on the end of the war, the success of our reforms, and the formation of a political consensus among EU member states. Complete reforms mean full membership.
