Why did America reject women twice and choose Trump

And they could have had a normal president.

America, which taught the world democracy well, was interested in progress and supported equal opportunities, yet twice did not dare to elect a woman as president.

First Hillary Clinton. Then Kamala Harris.

And, most interestingly, both times their opponent was Donald Trump.

The one with obvious problems expressing coherent thoughts, who gets tangled in his own words, has begun saluting his airplane, and has forgotten how he once mocked Biden’s age, yet now regularly gives reasons for biting jokes.

I still can’t fathom what exactly captivated millions of Americans about this person? What did they see in him? What virtues? What intellectual abilities? What moral advantage?

But they elected him twice. And twice denied women.

Of course, we don’t know what kind of presidents Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris would have been. But we know what kind of president Donald Trump is.

And somehow, I believe that both Hillary and Harris would certainly have done much less nonsense.

America was not ready for a female president.

And, by the way, Ukraine isn’t ready either. Even if he is odd, scrawny, and reads haltingly, he wins. Because he’s a man, darn it.

Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, the first democratically elected female head of state in Europe, is credited with the words: “There is no glass ceiling for women. There are only dense rows of men who don’t want to let us in.”

For many men, a smart, strong, competent woman in power is a personal male defeat.

They can forgive a man for foolishness, incompetence, rudeness, lies, narcissism. They admire his aggression and call it strength.

And Kamala is doing well. As is Hillary. They send us regards. And what do we do? We repost their words, where they earlier warned Americans: Trump is Putin.
