Ukraine is experiencing abnormal heat, but this should not mislead us because a difficult winter lies ahead. Difficult because the authorities are not ready for it: we are expecting not only cold in homes, power outages, but also massive ballistic attacks on critical energy infrastructure.
It is frankly annoying when some incompetent and clumsy officials suggest that Ukrainians flee from cities to villages, from Ukraine abroad. Unlike them, we have nowhere to run.
Residents of Sumy, Dnipro, Kharkiv have nowhere to flee — people directly say this when we communicate with them. It’s not the people who should act, but the authorities. Build shelters and bunkers, effectively cover infrastructure facilities. Energy supply diversification is needed: install gas compressor stations, battery storage units. But above all, strengthen the Ukrainian Armed Forces: ensure adequate financing, fulfill promises regarding contracts, rotation, and demobilization, ensure an increase in military personnel’s financial support.
We not only talk about this in parliament, in the relevant committees, — we ourselves help the Armed Forces of Ukraine every day. It could have been doubled if not for illegal and unconstitutional sanctions.
Equipment crews came to us who are stationed at the northern borders of Sumy and Kharkiv, holding the front in Zaporizhzhia and other hot spots. Assault, reconnaissance brigades, territorial defense brigades, and logistics battalions. They will receive equipment for fortification construction, vehicle repairs, as well as ATVs, generators, and charging stations for daily combat tasks.
A strong army is a guarantee that Ukraine will survive another winter and stand firm. It is our duty to do everything for the country to endure.
