Directly from the parliament hall, I headed to Zhytomyr region to deliver equipment for 12 units. These include airborne assault, mechanized, airmobile brigades, and a battalion of unmanned systems that protect the most crucial sections of the front.
How should the military react when before their eyes the authorities take 40 billion hryvnias from the defense budget and transfer it to the Reserve Fund, from where cashback, check-in, and e-banking are financed? They are ready to steal money from the budget for populist expenditure items. When it comes to providing for soldiers, this work must be done by philanthropists and volunteers.
Our “Poroshenko Foundation” with Maryna delivers equipment worth millions of hryvnias every week. Together with “Sprava Hromad,” we have delivered just laundry-shower complexes worth 300 million hryvnias. For the Armed Forces units, this means they will have access to hot water, laundry, and dryers. They can wash up, clean their clothes, and feel human.
If you consider whether this assistance is important for the military, sitting on a couch in Lviv or Kyiv, it might seem like there is something more important. But if you know what the military goes through every day, how they don’t leave their positions for months, only then can you understand the value of a hot shower and clean uniform.
We with the “European Solidarity” faction in parliament will continue to fight for increasing the financial support for the military and raising the share of personal income tax in the accounts of brigades. And today, we continue to help the military on our own.
We are delivering 15 laundry-shower complexes to the units, which they were waiting for and asking for.
Our cooperation with each of these units is strengthening. We provide them with excavators, FPV drones, trucks, ATVs, and other equipment. The laundry-shower complexes are just a small part of our cooperation.
