Confrontation with oneself

Confrontation with oneself
Dmytro “Kalynchuk” Vovnyanko

If I were not serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine now and had as much time for creativity as before mobilization, I would now engage in researching the presidency of Volodymyr Zelensky. I would clearly divide the time of his tenure as head of state into periods and analyze what situation occurred, how it arose, and how Zelensky and his team got out of the situation? Well, like, overshadowed it with another news, organized another provocation against Petro Poroshenko, switched attention to the next situation…

I am convinced that the results of such a study could write a book “Ukrainians for Dummies,” a kind of guide for future Ukrainian politicians. A book truthful to the point of undisguised cynicism.

Whether we like it or not, Volodymyr Zelensky’s presidency is the best myth-buster about Ukrainians, all these “cherry orchards near the house” and “I affirm, I strengthen.” Zelensky managed to strip Ukrainians of all superficial attractiveness and show them as they are.

What did Zelensky reveal to us? Well, firstly, that Ukrainians, no less than Russians, suffer from class hatred. Green propagandists constantly play on this thesis. Anyone who has assets above average is immediately declared a thief, dealer, corrupt official, etc. Of course, this is most vividly manifested in media attacks against the leader of European Solidarity Petro Poroshenko. But look at everyone else who somehow crossed paths with the greens. Klitschko, Zheleznyak, Fiala, Bohdan…

Next. Ukrainians have no respect for private property. Talk to ordinary people, and you will hear: “Take it away! Confiscate! Give it out…”. And to give “expropriated from the expropriators” to the ordinary Ukrainian desires… the state. So that it is “not someone’s, but common.” It doesn’t occur to the Ukrainian that giving property to the state means letting an official profit from it.

The only thing a Ukrainian respects is the right of ownership of his own property. At the same time, the Ukrainian mind does not grasp that to protect the right of ownership of one’s personal property, one must protect the right of ownership in general. Because it doesn’t work that way, you can dispossess the master, but you can’t do it to me, your beloved. Proven by Bolshevik collectivization. And not only.

The same slogans “take away and divide” were very popular during the Cossack times in the Zaporizhzhia Sich. Are you aware that Cossack officers in the Hetmanate had to feed not from private property, but from communal, which supposedly was given to them during their tenure?

Next. Ukrainians actually couldn’t care less about freedom of speech. If there is an opportunity to silence an opponent, Ukrainians will gladly do it even by simply not intervening. Proven by the history of the TV channels “Pryamyi,” “Fifth,” and “Espresso.” Remind me how many representatives of the journalistic community (those same ones who flaunted T-shirts “I’m not your sweetheart”) stood up against their disconnection from cable networks? As for ordinary citizens, I am silent. Why did everyone ignore the event? Well, because they are “Poroshenko’s channels.” As if they can be.

Let’s continue. Ukrainians can be manipulated, it’s just a matter of price. Massive aggressive agitation (1+1, Kvartal, other politicians’ TV channels together) can overthrow any reformer leader. Proven by the history of Petro Poroshenko, as well as the hetmans Ivan Mazepa and Pavlo Skoropadskyi. What’s more. Being swayed by propaganda, Ukrainians categorically do not admit that they were wrong. Admitting a mistake for an average Ukrainian is practically like changing sexual orientation.

We can continue further. Ukrainians have many amazing abilities that Zelensky openly and shamelessly demonstrates to us. And they need to be researched. We need to know them.

We have long resisted enemies – covertly and openly. But now Ukrainians have met themselves. And recoiled from what they saw. The Ukrainian nation is now, in spirit, like an immature teenager who first faced the real difficulties of an independent state and has two paths. Either overcome the difficulties (and soon face new ones), or break. Either develop and become rich and successful, or decay and disappear.

Zelensky was chosen by Ukrainians. Zelensky now reveals the entire essence of Ukrainians to us.
