A war of attrition is a contest not only between armies.
Rostyslav Pavlenko

We all have an extremely important task for survival: not to lose in the economy.

In the past 24 hours – 260 combat engagements. Meanwhile, Russia launched 580 drones at Ukraine. According to our military, 536 were neutralized. This is a tremendous job by the sky defenders.

But the portion of drones that break through can cause enormous damage. After strikes on power plants – attacks on gas extraction. Enterprises stop, production is reduced, the budget loses income.

Russia thinks it is not necessary to destroy the Ukrainian army if it manages to ruin the economy that supports it.

Ukraine’s military successes prove that the Russian victory is not inevitable. Our “Neptunes” hit enemy airfields, the Armed Forces liberate territories.

But at the same time, there are alarming reports of a Patriot missile shortage and the possibility of limiting American intelligence due to Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries. Ukraine cannot afford to lose these capabilities.

Therefore, what is needed is not a diplomatic game of va banque, not a show of toughness, but professional work with Americans and Europeans.

Concrete agreement: stable supply of interceptors, preservation of intelligence support, accelerated European purchases of American weapons. And joint pressure on Russia so that the cessation of strikes is mutual, not unilateral.

And at home?

Amidst the strikes on energy, there is again discussion of reducing the reservation of workers at critical enterprises. Taking an engineer from a power plant does not strengthen defense. Sometimes it means leaving without electricity a factory that produces weapons.

Smart mobilization rules are needed, protection of critical production, funding for recovery, and a clear plan in case of prolonged war.

And the government must honestly discuss it with society and parliament. As well as the mobilization policy. With service duration, rotation, increased financial support, motivation packages…

Because a war of attrition is a competition not only of armies. It is a competition of economies, alliances, and the quality of state management.

Strategic independence of Ukraine today demands more effective cooperation with allies and much more responsible work within the country.

To force Russia to cease fire, it is necessary not just to inflict losses on it. It is necessary to convince the Kremlin that Ukraine is capable of enduring longer than Russia is willing to continue the war.
