Sorry, but I don’t share the joy over the apologies of the Lviv troublemakers after being confronted by veterans.
I believe that it’s not the veterans who should be chasing deserters and pro-Russian cell groups, but the authorities. It is the authorities who should create conditions in which such events cannot occur. Systemically.
When incidents like “deserters versus veterans” start happening, it’s exactly the kind of movement and image that Russia needs to further divide society. And, judging by the general impotence of the authorities on this issue, it will continue, and shots will be fired, blood will be spilled, and only then will someone realize that the battle should be systemic—not against manufacturers of weapons and drones, but something else. But by then, the cup will be broken, and it will be impossible to glue it back together. Once blood is spilled, there’s no turning back. And the consequences too.
The system should regulate the relations between veterans and civilians in society. Only it has the right to law and violence, and this right should not leave its hands if the system is working adequately. If veterans have to take on this role, it means we don’t have a system, but rather a bunch of shielded function imitators who refuse to take on the corresponding obligations.
That’s how I see it, basically.
