Know the duty and find a way

Know the duty and find a way
Rostyslav Pavlenko

The uncertainty of exiting the war with Iran (even the uncertainty that it is an exit) simultaneously creates threats and opportunities on the American front for our diplomacy.

There will be a huge temptation for the authorities to “demonstrate strength” (which they do not have: two-thirds of budget revenues come from abroad, and are currently in question). The desire for internal ratings will push to “send Trump away.” There will even be expectations of a “change of power in November.”

But we still need to make it to “November,” especially since any election results overseas will not directly remove risks for us. Moreover, any attempt to attack Washington will resonate negatively with both parties. There, too, the phenomenon of rallying “around the flag” exists. They won’t tolerate foreign insolence.

Therefore, “showing off” now by collecting “likes” under Zelensky’s videos within the country is categorically contraindicated.

To the heroism of the Defense Forces holding the front and ensuring daily glimmers over Moscow, pragmatic, calibrated, and professional diplomacy must be added.

We need to find a way to show Trump and his entourage that Ukraine is part of the solution for him, not the problem. They tried to act contrary to Europe and Ukraine, and nothing good came of it. So, it’s time to change the approach.

Conveying this thought is a matter of utmost importance. It’s not about desire, not about “will it work – won’t it work.” It’s about the duty and capability to fulfill it.

The campaigns of the Zaporozhian Cossacks against Ottoman ports significantly influenced the balance of power in the Black Sea in the 17th century. After the victory at Khotyn, in which the Cossacks played a key role, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth gained long-awaited peace in the southeast. However, without proper diplomatic support, these victories did not bring the expected benefits to Ukrainians…

Proud of the achievements of our ancestors, we must draw conclusions.
