Well, with winter plans to break Ukrainians by disrupting energy, the Russians have traditionally (as with all strategic plans over the last 4 years) come up short.
This pertains to both energy and the internal moral and psychological state of Ukrainians. Besides the issue of mobilization and the military recruitment centers, where the enemy has successes, and where our government has messed up by investing heavily in a non-functioning telethon and media based on loyalty rather than professionalism.
And we’ve also started to strike targets deeper and more painfully.
The Russian economy is balancing between bad and very bad.
But this is far from the end. Although the advantage is partly on our side. Cautious optimism.
However.
It must be understood that energy in winter is part of the problem related to heat and heating.
And then there is the heat. The enemy will also prepare for strikes against it.
Because the cold can be solved with two blankets. And food can be put out on the balcony or windowsill.
But in the heat, there will be other problems. Including water and sanitation. And the enemy will try to exploit this.
We need to prepare (at least mentally) for the absence of air conditioning. No refrigerators. And water shortages.
The enemy will work hard on this, using the mid-season to stockpile.
Giving advice is a tricky business.
Although I’ll allow one. Plastic water containers will be extremely necessary. 100-120 liters. The more, the better. With water. Let them stand.
The Russians failed to leave us without heat, now they will try to leave us without water and create sewage issues. With all the resulting consequences in the heat.
And just a bit of experience. At the beginning of summer 2014, snipers from the 93rd brigade greeted us in Donbas near Pokrovsk. I was struck by the fact that they stood in their UAZ in the sun, although there was shade nearby. But they simply did not notice the heat. They were used to it. At that time, it shocked me a bit. But after a couple of months in field conditions without air conditioning, we ourselves got used to the heat and didn’t pay much attention to it.
The heat is more frightening in anticipation and the lack of understanding of the body’s ability to adapt.
But food will have to be prepared for one-time meals.
This may not happen. But it is better to be morally prepared.
