Orbán’s pre-election hysteria

Orbán's pre-election hysteria
Kyrylo Danilchenko

With Orban, it’s simple for me: he wants to have it both ways — be friends with “Vladimir” so Hungarians will do him favors, in return for nuclear power plants on preferential terms and at a good price for “Mother Hydrocarbon”. And have the cake — get subsidies, EU programs, quotas, and other goodies.

Right now, he is having a typical pre-election hysteria. He feels that for the first time his party might lose, and he starts mobilizing the electorate with the image of an external enemy. What external enemies does a humiliated country, without a sea, squeezed on all sides by strong neighbors, with the pains of losing Transcarpathia and fears of the plebs, have? Brussels bureaucracy and Ukraine.

He screams and spits because he needs to instill the idea that the Brussels bureaucracy will gather Hungarian sons for war and stifle business, and your pensions and money for community development will go to Ukrainians. All these altercations are not even like a haka or showing off from under a Scotsman’s kilt before a fight. Because the overweight guy is not risking anything. Even if he’s slightly moved away from the helm, they will talk about how they were living like kings under his rule, and now — there will be total ruin.

Could the confrontation have been avoided? No, in my opinion, no. No more enemies are expected for Orban. Well, not a country that, in the end, builds a digital Gulag, executes prisoners en masse, hands them over in a state of dystrophy, kills people with tropical frog poison and “Novichok”, films four-hour videos of rapes in UFSIN with mop sticks. Definitely not them. It’s us.

Well, let it be. A dog that barks loudly rarely bites. I condemn. Blood of our brothers and sisters and loved ones is on his hands and due to his delaying of aid.

I just received Abercrombie’s book “The Devils” the other day — symbolic and fitting.
