The capital has once again found itself in darkness and cold. Minus twenty outside, piercing wind, and the feeling that the frost enters the home along with the darkness. In some areas, there has been no light for several days, — time drags slowly, and the cold never relents, day or night.

In cold apartments — small children, elderly people, families forced to survive rather than live. Heating is not working, elevators have stopped, the ability to simply heat food or wash clothes has disappeared.

At such times, we are simply obliged to be together. To show unity and solidarity with those who are struggling the most. Our Kyiv team has already purchased and delivered gas burners, heaters, charging stations, and generators so that Kyiv can endure.

But Marina Poroshenko and I made another important decision. We have re-equipped the laundry-shower complexes, which we have been providing for the military for four years. Now they will operate in Kyiv — in areas where help is needed immediately. The day before yesterday it was the Holosiivskyi district (10 Vasyl Kasiyan St.), today — Troieshchyna (23 Myloslavska St.).

We will continue to help people and set up these complexes where it is hardest.

And while the central government tries to shift responsibility to local governance, we are doing what we know and must: helping. Because now, more than ever, it’s important to stick together, unite, and support each other.

In some areas of the capital, people have been living for weeks without heating, often without electricity and water.

Cold apartments, dark stairwells, dead phones. People sleep in jackets, warm themselves with gas burners and heaters, searching for any place to simply be warm.

When they say “a difficult winter,” it sounds abstract. But in reality, it’s about specific people, families with children, elderly people left alone in the cold. This isn’t about comfort — it’s about basic survival. You can hear for yourself what the locals say in this video.

That’s why our Kyiv team from “European Solidarity” along with the Poroshenko Foundation started a program to help Kyiv residents. We are opening “Solidarity Points” across the city, where you can warm up, charge your phone, have hot tea, wash and dry clothes.

Today one of the points was launched in Troieshchyna, at 23 Myloslavska St., where the situation is most difficult.

The same point is also operating in Teremky, at 10 Vasyl Kasiyan St.

There will be more. We will do everything to help where it is difficult. Because we must stick together and help each other.

Another hard day for the Ukrainian energy system, — the city plunged into blackout again. People are without electricity, heat, and water.

We understand how exhausted everyone is by these trials, and therefore we are doing everything possible to help and support.

Today, together with Petro Poroshenko, we visited the residents of Troyeshchyna, where our team deployed another mobile Point of Solidarity.

It’s no secret that this is one of the largest residential areas of the capital, with a population reaching 300 thousand, and according to some estimates, even half a million people.

Due to combined Russian strikes on energy, an especially difficult situation with electricity, water, and heat supply has arisen here, as this area is most dependent on the operation of just one CHPP.

The power engineers work 24/7, but the situation is really challenging. The fierce winter with its frosts doesn’t add optimism to people either. In apartments, it’s 8-10 degrees of warmth.

In these conditions, our Point of Solidarity allows the residents of Troyeshchyna to warm up, charge their electronic devices, and most importantly, wash and dry their belongings.

Many thanks to the Poroshenko Foundation team, NGO Spilna Sprava, and European Solidarity-Kyiv for joint work and help to Kyiv residents.

We are always nearby and doing everything possible to support.
