Cold fury

Cold fury
Rostyslav Pavlenko

During WWII, the Nazis hoped that air raids on cities and civilian targets could force victims – particularly Britain – to capitulate.

Proven – it doesn’t work that way. But followers of the Nazis – the Rashists – decided that they simply didn’t try hard enough. By amassing more missiles and drones and attacking civilian infrastructure, they hope to make life unbearable. They also aim to induce panic through information warfare.

The British response to such actions is well described by the phrase “cold fury.” We must adopt it.

However, it’s not just about resilience, steadfastness, and the morning “drop dead, YR.” It’s about responses that protect our own and destroy the enemy.

About funding for the army. Next week – changes to the budget. No shifting from defense articles to manual management, “reserve funds,” or “Cabinet decisions.” Transparent procedures, expanding brigade funding, purchasing the best, not “Midas-like” items.

About mass production of offensive and defensive arms. Ideas and technologies – into production, production – receives funds from us and partners under control to prevent embezzlement, produced items – on the heads of the Rashists. Not in videos about “thousands of missiles,” “swarms of flamingos,” or other series-like fantasies.

About mature work with partners. Not whining, complaining about injustice, and accusations. But constant work pressure using staffing, parliamentary, expert, humanitarian, or any kind of diplomacy.

About quickly addressing reports of problems and solving them – both at the front and in communities. Speed of response and quality of management and support can outweigh brute force – if they exist.

About adequate information policy. Not spreading rumors about “an offensive from Belarus,” “circular defense,” or “nuclear threats” against the backdrop of predictions of “peace by fall/spring,” to distract from a corruption scandal. But explaining what to do, why Russian fakes are lies.

About reporting on overcoming corruption. Suspension of those involved, non-interference in the work of anti-corruption institutions. Return of “Zmindychi-misused” funds.

About European integration, on the path to which we strengthen institutions that make the country democratic, and therefore able to withstand the horde with the help of allies. As for the whims of neighbors – see the point about mature diplomacy.

Cold fury is “cold” because without fuss, pathos, and loud proclamations, the enemy is destroyed, and the safety of Ukrainians increases.

Last night and everything leading up to it showed that there is no alternative. Focus, endure, constantly increase the pressure. To do this, be capable. Because capabilities, not videos or lies, win wars.
