A nice and substantive meeting with Paweł Kowal, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland and the Polish government’s plenipotentiary for Ukraine.
We talked a lot about Ukraine’s ongoing resistance against the Russian aggressor. Today, more than ever, Ukraine needs enhanced support from allies with everything necessary to strengthen our positions both on the battlefield and at the negotiating table.
Particular attention was paid to bilateral relations between Ukraine and Poland, specifically the importance of strengthening strategic partnership and appropriately addressing issues of historical memory.
I drew attention to the challenges within Ukraine, emphasizing the importance of strengthening democracy and democratic institutions, the rule of law, freedom of speech, and internal political unity as key elements of the state’s resilience.
